JODRELL BANK OBSERVATORY - UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER - ENGLAND - UKFor the last few years Georgina has watched Star Gazing Live where Brian, Dara and a whole host of other big brained super humans often broadcast from Jodrell Bank Observatory. Every year Georgina has the same thoughts. Firstly, 'I wish I had concentrated more in science' and secondly, 'I really should do a print of that place, it's awesome'.Well, the latter is now done. This is Georgina's take on Jodrell Bank featuring the impressive Lovell Telescope. Georgina has gone with a 1950's feel to this print given that was the era the telescope was constructed. She remembers recently being wowed by seeing Jupiter, Venus and Mars all shining together one evening so has put those in the print as a little reminder. The eagle eyed amongst you may also spot the ISS whizzing across the sky.PROCESSGeorgina's prints start off as sketches with pencil and paper, then using various photographs as references the scene is created digitally. The designs are drawings not tracing, so it can take quite a while. The aim is to create a fresh and modern take on the vintage travel posters of the early/mid 20th century. Georgina prints on an Epson printer using Epson Archival paper, using Epson DURABrite Ultra Pigment Ink giving the prints a crisp and vibrant finish. Using high quality inks mean they are more resistant to fading, however be careful hanging your print in direct sunlight.
You will receive an unframed A4 print, ready for any standard A4 sized frame.
