WHITBY - NORTH YORKSHIRE - ENGLANDINSPIRATIONThe picturesque fishing town of Whitby sits on on the east coast of England in North Yorkshire. Famed for its gothic abbey, the 199 steps (from which this view is taken), whale bone arches and of course its legendary fish and chips. Whitby also has a thriving art community and is the inspiration to many imaginative works. Here's Georgina's attempt at capturing this beautiful seaside port, with the full moon casting shadows on land and throwing its light upon the sea.PROCESSGeorgina's prints start off as sketches with pencil and paper, then using various photographs as references the scene is created digitally. The designs are drawings not tracing, so it can take quite a while. The aim is to create a fresh and modern take on the vintage travel posters of the early/mid 20th century. Georgina prints on an Epson printer using Epson Archival paper, using Epson DURABrite Ultra Pigment Ink giving the prints a crisp and vibrant finish. Using high quality inks mean they are more resistant to fading, however be careful hanging your print in direct sunlight.
You will receive an unframed A4 print, ready for any standard A4 sized frame.
